Since 1992 Snacks have been my thing. Growing up in NY during the late ‘90s and early 2000s, corner stores, Delis, and Bodegas were essential to a happy childhood. Running to the store with 2 dollars in hand meant candy, chips, a drink, and maybe a cake here and there…wow what a time!
Today, not so much, we pay an arm and a leg for the same classic flavors that have been around during that same time. Moving to the PNW in 2015, I found the snack culture very different. It's great but at the same time, I missed home and the variety I was used to. I got introduced to some great Asian flavors on this side of the USA and it got me thinking….what else? In New York, snacks ranged from patties with Coco bread, bun and cheese, and quarter waters to .10 cent warheads, cool ranch Doritos, Swedish fish, top pops, and sprites. We had it all!
